your daily dose of spiritual food

the flea market! on certain, sunny days, a vast concrete parking lot in the bay becomes a sea of curiosities. a gray nothing becomes a multi-colored everything. rows upon rows of junk, someone’s trash becomes another’s treasure. the people who come here are as interesting as the objects on display. an aqua green 80’s chair, an iron comb from the 30’s, magazines from the 50’s, i got a pair of vintage white and baby blue stripe adidas from the 70’s. surrounding the market are all kinds of massive industrial junk, such as huge, abandoned-looking ships, rusty crates, containers, cranes like the ones that inspired george lucas and great views of san francisco. one more reason why i love the bay.

  1. This picture is so vibrant and full of color. I love the abstraction of imagery. I’d like to see more that focus on the ordinary/ less observed objects… makes it very fun!

    • gracias!

i have a fascination with the little things, the simple pleasures of life, to see the extraordinary in what most see as ordinary.

      thanks for sharing!
