your daily dose of spiritual food

as i was walking along a rocky, windy trail in the mountains of northern california, this diminutive flair of light stopped me on my tracks. here stood this tiny fragile wildflower, resilient against all odds. among the jagged rocks and the furious winds, this flower gracefully held her ground. this is a portrait of hope. how can something so small and seemingly insignificant contain so much beauty and intricacy? the gripping color, similar to nothing around it, the spiraling vortex of pollen calling all bees to dance, these are nature’s gifts to us. it is what we in turn give to those we love.  this is what beauty is. it is harmony, free and open, beyond that which meets the eye.
