the french part of the swiss alps, one of the most beautiful places i have been in. rustic wood and stone chalets and cottages blend in perfectly with the landscape. the simplicity of the buildings seem to be showing their respect for the awe and drama, the beauty and magnificence of ‘les diablerets’, the famous jagged mountains that resemble the teeth of the devil. as you climb these teeth, the buildings cease to be and in their place nature shares her gifts with you: wild flowers, ancient trees, waterfalls, patches of snow, cows here and there. this place carries a magic all of its own.
